Fried Cornbread

  • 1 ½ cups Self-Rising Buttermilk Cornbread Mix
  • 1 cup buttermilk or sweet milk
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup finely diced onion
  • Cooking oil
  1. Mix together cornbread mix, milk, egg and onion. Stir to combine.
  2. Add about ¼ inch deep of cooking oil to a medium-size or iron skillet. 
  3. Over medium heat, drop heaping spoonfuls of batter. Cooking until golden brown on each side.
  4. Drain on paper towels.
