Hearty Baked Beans

  • 3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled; reserve pan drippings
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 3 cans pinto beans, drained
  • ½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard

  1. Saute onion and garlic in bacon drippings in a large skillet until tender.
  2. Combine bacon, onion mixture, beans and remaining ingredients in the slow cooker.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or Low for 5 to 6 hours.
