Old Fashioned Bread Pudding
Ingredients for Pudding:
1 16 oz. day-old French bread loaf, cubed
2 12 oz. cans evaporated milk
1 cup water
6 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 8oz. can crushed pineapple, drained
1 large apple, grated (Red Delicious recommended)
1 cup raisins
1 ½ cups sugar
5 Tbsp. vanilla extract
¼ cup butter, cut up and softened
Ingredients for Bourbon Sauce:
3 Tbsp. butter
1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
½ cup sugar
1 cup whipping cream
2 Tbsp. bourbon
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. nutmeg
Directions for Pudding:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine bread, milk and water, stir in eggs, blending well.

Stir in pineapple, apple, raisins, sugar and vanilla. Stir in butter, blending well.

Pour mixture into a greased 13x9 inch baking dish.

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until set. Serve with Bourbon Sauce.
Directions for Sauce:

Melt butter in small saucepan; whisk in flour and cook 5 minutes.

Stir in sugar and whipping cream; cook 3 minutes.

Stir in bourbon, vanilla and nutmeg and simmer 5 minutes.
