Taco Salad

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (16 ounce) can chili beans, drained
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) package tortilla chips (broken) or Fritos
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 (16 ounce) bottle Catalina salad dressing
  • 4 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/2 cup prepared salsa
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and drain excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.
  2. Let meat mixture cool slightly.
  3. Combine meat mixture, beans, lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes in a large bowl. 
  4. Pour dressing over the salad; add sour cream and salsa; stir.
  5. Add chips or Fritos immediately before serving.
