Chunky Cherry Applesauce

  • 8 apples, peeled and cored (preferably Granny Smith)
  • 1 (16 ounce) package of frozen pitted unsweetened cherries
  • ½ cup sugar to taste
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  1. Put all ingredients in a 4-quart slow cooker.
  2. Cook on low for 10 hours.
  3. Cool and store in refrigerator. 

Makes about 6 ½ cups. Can be served as a side dish, over meat or over pound cake.
